All Africa Music Award 2017

The All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA is set to storm Lagos, come November 10 to 12, 2017.

The All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, is a platform designed to promote the distinct rich African music worldwide, engaging millions of fans by propelling African music to glorious pinnacles beyond the borders of Africa.

In Africa, music is always seen as inseparable from human existence. It carries long traditions and values that are associated with the people and represents part of their identities.

Music in African societies, as it functions in many different societies in the world, has enormous value. Music, either making it or listening to it, is linked to life experiences and peoples’ culture.

As such, sweet, feel-good experiences need to be created for the millions of followers of African music all over the world for them to understand and appreciate Africa’s culture. Hence, the birth of AFRIMA to inspire generations and celebrate African music.

For the 2017 edition, the scheduled events are The Africa Music Business Roundtable on Friday, November 10 at the Ballroom, Eko Hotel, and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos by 8 AM; attendance is subject to registration on the AFRIMA website, www.afrima.org. Other main events are the AFRIMA Music Village, an evening of a non-stop open music festival of live performances from the African stars and nominees, with an expected audience of 40,000 people, on Friday, November 10, at the Waterfront, Bar Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos by 4 PM. Attendance will be activated by the purchase of the AFRIMA 2017 Tee-Shirts on the AFRIMA website and at designated points.

The Main Awards Ceremony (November 12, 6 PM); a world-class event will happen at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel, and Suites, Lagos. There will be live performances from star-studded artistes and television broadcast to 84 countries on 109 television stations around the world. Tickets can be purchased on the AFRIMA website and on ariyatickets.com.The full nominees’ list of 33 categories comprises of the Regional Category which covers the five African regions and the genre-based Continental Category.
