Nigeria’s elections are coming soon, scheduled for February 2019 and political conversations across all forms of media are on the rise.
Youth make up more than half of Nigeria’s population. However, beyond discussions, they usually do not participate in the electoral process. Your vote is your voice! We encourage you to make your voice heard.
Recently, the “Not Too Young to Run” bill was passed which shows that it is time for youth to claim their rightful place in Nigeria’s political scene. Participate in the electoral process, it’s your duty as a citizen.
The first step is to register as a voter in your area of residence. On Friday, 17 August, the registration process will be suspended. Visit the nearest INEC registration center, register to vote, and encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same. If you have already registered to vote, ensure you obtain your Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) and be prepared to vote. Your future depends on it.
In the coming weeks, we will be launching the #ABetterNigeriacampaign focused on the Nigerian elections and the aspirants. Stay tuned, register, get your PVC, and see PVC locations in Nigeria below.
