Yinka Davies,Omawunmi, Waje, and more, with Ita Giwa friends and fans all converge at the 7seasons lounge to celebrate the queen of soul; Aretha Franklin.

What we would refer to as a star studded event, took place in one of Lagos most exquisite lounge 7 seasons, in collaboration with senator Ita Giwa and friends who came together to celebrate the soul queen Aretha Franklin, that just passed on.

A Karaoke Tribute was done in honor of the soul queen; a great and iconic musical legend, who impacted the world with her voice through her music and passed on at the age of 76.

Aretha Louise Franklin (March 25, 1942 – August 16, 2018) was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. She began her career as a child singing gospel at New Bethel Baptist church in Detroit, Michigan where her father C. L. Franklin was a minister. She embarked on a secular career in 1960 at age 18, recording for Columbia Records but achieving only modest success. She achieved commercial success and acclaim after signing to Atlantic Records in 1966, with songs such as “Respect“, “Chain of Fools“, “Think“, “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman“, “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)“, and “I Say a Little Prayer

On Tuesday, 21st of August, 2018, fans of the late singer, soul lovers, celebrities, and members of the American consulate gathered to pay tribute to the queen of soul, through a Karaoke, with powerful soul singers in the Nigerian entertainment industry  taking turns to perform songs from the great woman, with the audience cheering and singing along.

It was a beautiful night that reminded us of how much influence the great musical icon had on the people, and how much she was loved, accepted and would be greatly missed. The atmosphere was in full swing as the DJ serenaded the guest with classics from Aretha, oldies that got us on our feet and the new school that brought us back to reality! Not to leave out the 60s themed outfit that was excellently pulled off by the guests.
