For a long while, ‘’getting work done’’ was a western concept, associated with celebrities and high-profile individuals. Even so, it was discreet. Left to be imagined, not talked about and certainly not shown off or paraded on social media
The idea of getting work done sipped slowly into Nigeria with the speculation that our ‘’society ladies’’ were in fact seeking cosmetic surgery abroad. Details were scrupulously concealed.
The beautiful Radio Presenter, author of popular book “On Becoming” and fashion/beauty entrepreneur boldly takes to her popular YouTube page “Moments with Toke” to address all the fuss on self-esteem and the need to embrace science invention to getting work done, this of course got a lot of backlash from Nigerians.
Toke started with the 10 year challenge that trended on social media which she participated in, her pictures displayed on CNN showing her beauty transformation and glow up
Toke says “ to be honest everyone is dealing with some self esteem issues be it their height or something” and it’s okay to have some work done on your body as the same God who gave us these bodies has blessed doctors with brains to help us look better.
The celebrity says “technology has been upgraded from phones to even machines to help get a better physical appearance” Toke speaks about how people are judges on other people’s matters but advocates on ours.
She goes further to address younger girls (16,17,18…) that they don’t need to try anything as their body is still evolving, she advises people to read her book “ On Becoming”so they can understand her journey.
Toks says she will be enlightening people on her surgery and steps to consider before going for one on the next episode of “Moments with Toke”
