The governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has recommended the use of Chloroquine and Zithromax for the treatment of Coronavirus patients in his state because he can attest to their efficacy.
After testing positive on the 24th of March, Mohammed recovered from the virus on the 9th of April. He also is taking responsibility should anything go wrong in the course of using the drugs to treat Coronavirus patients in his state.
”Our medical team is using their own ingenuity to use chloroquine and Zithromax to treat patients, even though in some places, they said it is against the protocol”, Mohammed said.
”Nobody is affected with any serious distress in Bauchi. The confirmed 18 cases who tested positive has been raised to 29. Of this figure, 6 have been discharged and 23 are on admission with mild symptoms and no death has been recorded.”
The WHO has said repeatedly that the use of Chloroquine in treating the virus could lead to harmful side effects such as heart contractions, and also that clinical trials are still ongoing for the use of chloroquine as panacea for Coronavirus disease.
