The queen of afro beats, Tiwa savage was recently in an interview with Ebuka on bounce radio live.

The duo talked about the singer’s involvement with the #endsars protest, a charity for abused victims and how her entire journey with music began after she moved to London with her mother.

The music star narrated how she was constantly bullied by her peers because of her Nigerian accent and skin colour.  Her musical talent, still undiscovered till she pleaded for an audition chance at a school play to impress her crush. “That was how it all started,” she said.

The sensational singer gave a detailed account of the challenges she faced while pursuing a successful musical career internationally and her transition to afrobeat in Nigeria.

She also shared how she met her ex-husband, teebillz, at a timaya concert in l.a, where she had to confront him about not contacting her after she sent her CV and demo to him.

According to Tiwa, he gave her a call the next day, saying how much he liked her vocals and could work with her. She said he helped her a lot when she moved to Nigeria, telling her who in the industry she should meet with.

Even though the amazing songstress has an enviable reputation now, it hasn’t always been rosy for her. She told of how she was rejected by record Labels, stormz record, banky w, mo hits and Toni Payne.

She also shared moments she had at Mavin’s record describing the crew as “family”.
