The Nollywood industry is raising the bar and superseding our expectations lately with the recent movies in Nigeria. I was in complete awe of the ‘God calling movie’ and recommend it to everyone reading. The story line was amazing, daring and experiential as a faith based genre, quite different from most of the movies we have seen, did I also mention that the cast was incredible?
God Calling shines a spotlight on modern-day spirituality by imaginatively exploring what it might look like for Abraham or Prophet Elijah in these days, having to contend with disbelief as well as modern day realities.
The film was the scripting and idea of the very well known film maker Bodurin Sasore popularly known as B.B, who is also the brain behind “The Ghost of Banana Island”,
When Sade, starring (Zainab Balogun) the central character suffers a personal tragedy, she is taken on a journey of self-discovery and faith which transforms the lives all those around her.
Imagine you throw your phone, it shatters and God is still calling! Lol now that will be an inexpiable moment.
The Quality of the Movie’s Special Effects Are Praiseworthy
One of the things that have heightened our love and critical praise for God calling is its special effects. The movie showed a couple of properly executed and practical scenes.
The production in general is amazing!!! I remember people were actually crying and singing while we were just getting into the movie! It also stars the likes of Richard Mofe Damijo, Tina Mba, Onyeka Onwenu, Nkem Owoh, Eku Edewor. Bodurin Sasore did a great job with the cast but most importantly the story line, “God Calling” is a must watch for every person who would like to see a properly faith based Nigerian movie.
