There have been rumors about actress, Toyin Abraham being the replacement of Actress Funke Akindele in the NCDC coronavirus Campaign. This comes after Funke Akindele and husband were arrested and charged to court for violating Federal Government directive against large gatherings, by throwing a birthday party in her house with over 20 attendees.
Toyin Abraham took to her Instagram page to address the rumors:
“It has just been brought to my attention that blogs are reporting that I am now NCDC ambassador. Implying that I have been used to replace a colleague. That line of thought necessitate I put this out there. I am not an ambassador to NCDC. I do not like the narrative that I am trying to take advantage of a bad situation. I support the campaign against Covid-19, I appeared on a video campaign against the pandemic but please let’s not drag another person down. Thank you.”
During the incident with Funke Akindele, the NCDC denied having any ambassador as she had appeared in a Dettol advert in conjunction with NCDC, prior to the party.
