South East Governors Organizes Joint Security Agency Named EBUBEAGU

The Governors and Stakeholders of the South Eastern part of Nigeria has introduced it’s joint security agency named EBUBEAGU, after a security meeting in Imo state on Sunday, 11th April, 2021.
This meeting was attended by the governors of Abia, Anambra, Ehonyi, Enugu and Imo while the Navy and Air Force Commanders, the Inspector General of Police, Ohaneze Ndigbo and other dignified stakeholders were present at the meeting.
This meeting took place some days after the attacks at the Owerri Custodial Centre by gunmen, who released 1884 prisoners and another attack at the Imo State Police Command by gunmen who burnt several vehicles down.

After the meeting, the Imo State Government revealed the outcome on its official Twitter handle, saying, “South-East Governors set up the South-East joint security outfit code named EBUBEAGU,”
This development comes a year after the South Western Governors unveiled the Western Nigeria Security Agency called “Amotekun Corps”.
This comes a year after the Governors of the South-West launched the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps.
