Lagos State unveils the “Last Mile Buses” that will replace tricycles and motorcycles

The Lagos State Government revealed plans to rid Lagos State of motorcycles and tricycles by providing “last-mile buses” as alternative means of transportation.

This was revealed by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in a security town hall meeting on Monday, 10th of May, 2021.

Commercial motorcycles and tricycles, popularly called Okada and Keke, are many Lagosians’ means of transportation to inner streets.

Governor Sanwo-Olu revealed that the government has noted the dangers motorcycles and tricycles pose on Lagos road and plans to eradicate them are being put in place.

The governor also announced the roll-out of 500 ‘last-mile buses’ to service people to the inner routes instead of motorcycles and tricycles.

This is part of the measures taken by the Lagos State Government against the rapid increase of insecurity in the state.
